Our practice offers a private car park with level access throughout the building, making visits easy for all. From the welcoming porch to the helpful reception staff, we are here to support you and your pet from the car to the consultation room. Additional paid parking is also available in the main town car park.
MODERN CONSULTING SPACES & ON-SITE DIAGNOSTICS
With three dedicated consulting rooms and in-house lab equipment, we deliver swift, accurate diagnostics, including same-day blood and skin test results. Most procedures are performed while you remain with your pet, ensuring comfort and clarity. We also feature separate wards for cats and dogs, designed to minimise stress.
NUTRITION, REHABILITATION & PAIN-FREE THERAPIES
We stock a full range of VETERINARY HPM® life-stage foods and prescription diets from trusted brands. Our on-site K-Laser Therapy provides advanced, non-invasive treatment for conditions like wounds, sprains, and chronic pain, supporting recovery and comfort, whether your pet is healing post-op or managing ongoing conditions.
OUR FACILITIES
Car Parking and Entrance
A small private car park is situated right outside the front door. The entrance is at street level and all consulting and operating rooms are on one level, making them accessible to all. If you require assistance bringing your pet into the practice from the car park, please come in and ask at reception – we will be happy to help you. There is also additional parking in the council car park next to the practice. Please ensure that all pets are secured and under your control when entering and leaving the practice.

The hub of the practice. Our friendly Client Care team is always on hand to assist you with any general enquiries.
Waiting Area
The spacious waiting area is also home to our ‘walk-on’ weighing scales, so feel free to ‘pop-in’ with your dog during office hours for a ‘weigh-in’. A member of the team will be happy to update their medical notes and provide advice if required.
Life Stage and Prescription Foods
We offer VETERINARY HPM® dog and cat food. Thanks to its high-protein, low-carb nutritional profile and carefully selected dietary supplements, VETERINARY HPM® is more than just a dog and cat food. VETERINARY HPM® provides expertly tailored nutrition for the specific health challenges at each stage of your pet's life, helping to keep them in optimal health. VETERINARY HPM® offers a large spectrum of health benefits, developed to support the long-term health and well-being of cats and dogs.
Prescription foods are also available and may be prescribed for your pet by a vet. The VETERINARY HPM® Clinical Diets provide comprehensive nutritional management for dogs and cats with a health condition. We offer a range of prescription foods including Hills and Royal Canin.
Laboratory Facilities
Our Laboratory is equipped with biochemistry and haematology blood analysis machines which enables us to obtain fast blood test results, often while you wait. Skin scrapes and ear swabs can also be analysed under our microscope while you wait, often providing immediate diagnosis.
Dog and Cat Wards
Two separate kennel rooms allow for cats to be accommodated in a separate room to dogs.
Operating Theatres
Our purpose-built operating theatre is spacious and has all the facilities required for modern routine and emergency surgery. Gaseous anaesthetics are used for general anaesthetics and patients are monitored using multi-parameter monitor, ECG and pulse oximeters. Digital X-ray and ultrasound are also available, and we have a dedicated theatre for dental procedures.
K-Laser Therapy
State-of-the-art K-Laser therapy provides a pain free, non-invasive treatment enjoyed by pets and their owners. It is drug free, surgery free and most importantly has hundreds of published studies demonstrating its clinical effectiveness in both human and animal therapy. Our nurses are trained to use this technology to treat acute and chronic wound and musculoskeletal conditions. Treatment times are short, often only a few minutes making this an ideal therapy for your pet.
Maelor Veterinary Centre
Our branch practice provides first line veterinary treatment for the village of Overton-on-Dee and surrounding areas. It boasts a spacious consulting room and large waiting room. While we will aim to provide as many services as possible at this site, we will sometimes need to send you to Ellesmere where all operations are performed and in-patient care provided.

Our Maelor branch in Overton-on-Dee offers everyday care with a full consulting suite and waiting room. For operations and inpatient care, we’ll refer you to our main Ellesmere centre. Plus, don’t miss our nostalgic veterinary cabinet display—a reminder of how far modern medicine has come.
